Frizzled Paint Silkie Priscilla

Priscilla makes me so very happy, you all! In December 2020 I hatched her from an egg I got from Gloria at California Silkie Chickens Ranch. My pictures didn’t really capture her black spots, but you can see how very beautiful she is! Sometimes it’s difficult to tell whether you have a frizzled silkie or not. I’ve noticed that most of them start growing feathers that curl outwards within the first couple weeks after hatch. You’ll know for sure, though, when the neck feathers come in. See how they curl out?

Priscilla is in the pen with Norbert, the satin paint stud. Their babies should be mostly paint colored, but will have a wide variety of feather types! We should get satin, silked, frizzled, and straight feathers in their babies. I’m ridiculously excited for the frizzled satin babies that’ll come from these two. They look like a chrysanthemum!

Priscilla was one of the cutest silkie babies I’ve had! Below you can see some adorable pictures of her as a chick! Such a sweet little cloud of fluffy cuteness!
