The Latte Girls

From left to right and top to bottom: Gingerbread, Midnight, Caramel Macchiato, Pumpkin Spice, Choco, and Marshmallow

Can you tell I had way too much fun naming the girls in Latte’s pen? I know the humor is up there with a dad joke, but do you see what I did there? We have Gingerbread (aka Ginger) Latte, Midnight Latte, Caramel Macchiato (aka Caramel) Latte, Pumpkin Spice Latte, Choco Latte, and Marshmallow Latte. I’m sure there will be a Mocha and a Dulce de Leche down the line, as well! As you can see, they girls in this pen are absolutely gorgeous! Some of their babies will come from Latte, and some will come from HeiHei, both of whom are total hotties, as well.

So far the babies hatching from the Latte girls (no offense, HeiHei…they’re yours too, but we all know Latte is the head roo in there) are extremely cute! If you know this site you’ll remember that our goal here at Buckaboo Farm is to breed for fun egg and feather colors, and for a variety of interesting feather types. We want to provide our crazy chicken people with crazy fun chickens! For example, do you see Miss Caramel Macchiato? She’s a red bantam frizzle cochin. Her babies with latte will be shades of orange and blue, most likely with a partridge pattern, because the partridge gene is dominant. Since the babies will receive 1 recessive silked feather gene from dad and 1 dominant satin feather gene from mom they will have satin feathers. Half of them will be frizzled, as well. The babies will have feathered legs and most likely a crest that is a bit smaller than pure silkies. So do you want to see what one looks like? Here’s our first little angel.

Angel Baby is over the top adorable, but she’s not the only cutie! Here are some more pics of the Latte Girls’ babies…cuteness overload! Soon we will get some naked necks in the mix, as well, from both HeiHei and Midnight!
