Won-Won

The Won-wons are a couple of our most stunning roosters here at Buckaboo. Won-Won the 1st was a true Buckaboo boy, bred here on the farm. We loved his fabulous poof, and also his snuggly personality. We wanted to name him Ronald Weasley because he’s such a cute ginger, but had to go with the pet name given to Ron by Lavender Brown when they date in book 6 of the Harry Potter series. Sadly, he passed this last year, but he left us Won-won the 2nd as his beautiful and sweet legacy. Won-won the 2nd is as beautiful and snuggly as his dad, but he’s a satin. Half his babies with silkies will be satin, and half will be silked. We do have a 3rd Won-won, as well, who is a lighter colored buff boy with a nice big crest, like the others.

The Won-wons are in a pen with buff, partridge, red pyle, and blue/cream. There’s even an orange laced frizzled satin in there! We hatch really interesting babies from this pen! Most of the buff have some blue undertones, as well as some black markings, so they’re not a great option if you are hoping to show, but they are unique and beautiful! Chicken genetics are very complicated and frequently surprising. Although some of the Buckaboo babies are showable with standard colors and feathers, we have a lot of fun mixing and matching colors, as well as feather types, and sometimes the mixed colors are not accepted at shows. Please do your homework if you plan on showing these birds. If you want pure buff we are not the right breeder for you!
